Benefits of eating, drinking, and bathing in your skincare

For generations people have been taught that applying skincare topically is the only way to nourish the skin. While not realizing factors like, eating an American - high processed diet and/or living in stress can contribute to skin and health issues. We were taught the only thing that mattered was to wash your face with any low quality soap and apply some chemically infused moisturizer.

Don’t get me wrong, our skin is our largest, most beautiful organ. As someone who literally sells topical oils… I believe in the magic and deep nourishment it has to offer. Taking your skincare internally, as apposed to applying them topically, is a faster, more effective way for nutrients to be absorbed in the body.

Please note- I AM NOT TELLING YOU TO EAT YOUR STORE BRAND MOISTURIZERS

What I am saying is that studies are showing the results and the benefits of what eating our fruits and veggies (flowers&herbs) really do for us. What eating cleaner truly does for our skin and overall health.

A study* was submitted using pomegranate. The study demonstrated improvements in several biophysical properties, wrinkles, and shifts in the skin microbiome.

Another study** tested the benefits of drinking a certain type of hibiscus. The research noted significant incremental benefits in skin moisture and glowing skin. Hibiscus also significantly lowered the blood pressure, improved anti-oxidation level, and positively regulated skin redness as well as moisture.

Lastly bathing in herbs and oils is something I highly recommend. Baths not only help with relaxation but have a multitude of other benefits. ‘HerbalGram, American Botanical Council’ states “Modern science proves that bathing can relieve muscle tension, dilate blood vessels, and slow the heart rate. Herbs can contribute to these benefits. Bathing with infusions of fragrant herbs is used traditionally to treat many diseases, may eliminate physical and mental tiredness, and is beneficial for the skin and hair.”

Drinking healthy juices, teas, and eating fruits while taking an herbal bath can be a nice way to incorporate a little more nourishment into our lives.
